John Tristram is in discussions with the University of the South Pacific about a partnership on a regional Oceanic production – a mixture of history and events of major concern to the Pacific Islands.
Ian James Wilson is researching a project linking the Solomon Islands and the Orkney Islands. While filming in Malaita, Wilson discovered the story from the local chiefs about an Orkney man who lived with the islanders for several years in the 19th century and became a head hunter.
Imelda Cooney has interviewed Johannes von Trapp regarding a unique story set on a hillside in Fiji and featuring Dr Franz Wasner, priest and renowned musical director of the von Trapp family.

Lost Empires of Oceania takes a new look at the prehistory of Oceania and the achievements of its people. Groundbreaking research reveals the astonishing achievements and complexities of vanished Pacific worlds.
Oceania Series 2 (working title): This will be an anthology of cultural and historical stories from the Oceanic region. It will feature PNG’s largest volcanic eruption; Vanuatu societies who have turned their back on western ways; Fine Mats, the Pacific’s cultural treasures; a two part film on AD1300, the Pacific’s Little Ice Age, where the moral and social dimensions of climate change can be seen through the prism of history.
